Made a beautiful ring with a tungsten using this. My only "issue" is the fine is very fine. I think next time Im gonna order medium and crush it down a little.
Thank you c.a. for sharing your experince! The ring looks great Medium and Fine size are both great for ring making! For most of our inlay projects, we like to use a mix of Medium and Fine. I will start by placing some medium pieces of crushed opal into my inlay and then fill the gaps around the medium pieces with our fine size. I find that this approach allows me to still capture the beauty of the stone pieces but still have that finished, 'perfected' look without any gaps. It all depends on the final look you are wanting to capture.

After further discussing the matter with you, it seems like you intended to use our products for glasswork which is not what our products are designed for and we do not recommend this. To clarify, our Crushed Opal is lab-created and designed specifically for ring making and craft projects. As stated in our product descriptions and photos, the material is composed of 80% silica and 20% resin, and can withstand heat up to 250 degrees F. It is not intended for glasswork. We strive to provide clear and accurate information to help our customers make informed purchasing decisions. We have provided return instructions to you and we are more than happy to help you with a refund.

I call Moonstone my neutral shade. It pairs well with just about any stone I use to make bracelets. I love the colors it gives off in the light with a beautiful bluish gray body color.

I measured the opal on my mm ruler and to me, they measure 2mm, not 3mm. I also compared them to 2mm opal cabs I previously ordered thru Amazon that were shipped from India, and they measure identical, which is why I searched and purchased 3mm, the 2mm too small for my ring replacements. Not worth the bother of returning and replacing, if it was even offered. Just really disappointed.
Hi Lori, thank you for sharing your honest feedback. All of our stones are measured with digital calipers to ensure the correct sizing for each stone. We have sold many of our cabs with no sizing issues. In the future, we would suggest measuring with digital calipers as this is the only way to accurately measure such small stones. Please keep in mind that 3mm stones are incredibly small, this would be roughly .11 inches in size. If you ever feel disappointed with your order, please contact us directly as we are always happy to work with the customer to make it right. We apologize for any disappoint!

Real opals are too soft, these are a perfect way to add “opals” to my creations. The first time I wore my bracelet, I received compliments all day. 🤗
